School of Motion

Course
Animation Bootcamp

Timeline
January 2024 - March 2024

Skills
Motion Design, 2D Animation

After Effects and I first crossed paths in a university class, and I came out of that class with an even stronger desire to learn more. So, I jumped into the deep end with the Animation Bootcamp at School of Motion. Over 12 weeks, I battled through a gauntlet of exercises, picking up everything from animation principles to (very) essential After Effects shortcuts. I finished the boot camp with an upgraded motion graphics skill set.

I’ve handpicked some of my favorite projects from those intense 12 weeks—go ahead, check them out and I hope something piques your interest!

Final Project - Be the Ice Sculptor

Our final project was quite a doozy: Bring a 30-second video to life, armed with style frames and a backtrack courtesy of Ordinary Folk and School of Motion. Like embarking on any epic quest, the toughest part was figuring out where to begin. But once I hit my stride, there was no stopping. I'm pretty stoked about the final cut and I invite you to check it out!

Week 1 vs Week 9 - Desk UnMess

The same exercise, but done 9 weeks apart from each other. I thought this exercise was a great way to see how much I improved throughout BootCamp, and I’m hoping you can notice the changes as well!
